SingleSensor™ Technology

Colortrac’s revolutionary SingleSensor™ technology serves as a vital element in two exceptional scanners: the SmartLF SCi, a reliable office workhorse, and the portable SmartLF Scan! With SingleSensor™ technology at their core, these scanners eliminate the need for sensor stitching, providing a seamless scanning experience right from the moment you switch them on.

By integrating SingleSensor™ technology, these scanners deliver remarkable results with sharpness, clarity, and precision. Gone are the days of trial and error; with Colortrac’s SingleSensor™ technology, every scan produces sharp, clean, and accurate digital reproductions. Whether you’re preserving important documents or capturing intricate artwork, you can trust in the quality and consistency that these scanners offer.

Both the SmartLF SCi and the SmartLF Scan! feature CIS (Contact Image Sensor) technology, making them ideal for scanning flat originals. Whether you’re working in an office setting or require portability, these CIS scanners cater to your needs by providing efficient and effective scanning capabilities.

Embrace the power of Colortrac’s SingleSensor™ technology and experience hassle-free scanning, exceptional image quality, and consistent results with the SmartLF SCi and the SmartLF Scan! Discover the difference that these innovative CIS scanners can make in your scanning workflow.

SureDrive™ Technology

SureDrive is Colortrac’s innovative paper feed technology which ensures as the precise movement of your documents during the scanning process. Avoiding distortions and misalignments, SureDrive utilises and combines electronic sensors and precise motor control mechanisms to actively monitor and adjust the movement of the paper as it passes through the scanner.

The result? Constant and consistent paper feeding, helping to minimise the risk of paper skewing or slipping during the scanning process. This helps save time from having to reload originals, which can cause delays and decreased workflow – not great when time is important.

SureDrive also helps to eliminate potential image distortions caused by misaligned scans. It ensures that the document remains flat and properly aligned throughout the scanning process, resulting in accurate and reliable reproductions of the original document.

With reduced need for operator intervention, improved productivity, and enhanced scanning quality, SureDrive makes large format scanning easy. It’s ideal for maps, architectural drawings, or other large format materials.

Standard on SCi and SGi models.

ClearView™ Technology

Want to enhance images with low contrast or faint details? Look out for SmartLF models featuring Clearview, Colortrac’s innovative new imaging technology. It employs advanced algorithms and image processing techniques to enhance the clarity, sharpness, and readability of scanned images.

The primary objective of Clearview is to improve the visibility of subtle details, fine lines, and low-contrast elements that may be present in documents, such as old or faded drawings, blueprints, or historical records. By analysing the scanned image data, Clearview intelligently enhances the contrast and sharpness of the document, bringing out hidden details and improving overall legibility.

Clearview technology employs adaptive image processing algorithms that can automatically detect and enhance specific areas of the image that require improvement. This ensures that only relevant portions of the document are modified, preserving the integrity of the original content while improving its visibility.

The benefits of Clearview technology include enhanced image quality, improved readability, and increased accuracy in reproducing fine details. It can significantly improve the interpretation and analysis of scanned documents, making it particularly valuable in industries such as architecture, engineering, construction, and archival preservation.

CIS

CIS sensors consist of an array of light-sensitive elements positioned in a single row or multiple rows, covering the entire width of the scanning area. These elements, often based on CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) technology, work together to capture the reflected light from the surface of the document when it comes into contact with the sensor.

When a document is placed in contact with the CIS sensor, each light-sensitive element detects the intensity of light at its specific location. The captured light is then converted into an electrical signal, which is processed and converted into a digital representation of the scanned image. This process allows for the creation of a highly detailed and accurate digital image of the document.

Colortrac takes CIS technology to the next level with its SingleSensor™ technology to deliver outstanding image results. SingleSensor™ technology features on the SmartLF Scan! and SmartLF SCi series.

CCD

CCD sensors feature an array of light-sensitive pixels organized in a grid pattern. These pixels detect the intensity of light that falls on them and convert it into an electrical charge. The pixel array captures the incoming light, and the charges generated are transferred row by row or column by column across the CCD using a process called charge-coupling.

To optimize the light-gathering efficiency of the CCD sensor, a micro-lens system is incorporated. This system consists of tiny lenses placed above each pixel. The micro-lenses help focus and direct the incoming light onto the individual pixels, enhancing the sensor’s sensitivity and improving overall image quality.

The micro-lens system serves a crucial role in CCD technology by improving the sensor’s light-gathering ability. By precisely focusing the light onto the pixels, it maximizes the amount of light captured, resulting in clearer and more detailed images. This enhanced light collection also contributes to the sensor’s performance in low-light conditions, allowing for excellent image capture even in challenging lighting environments.

Another major benefit of CCD sensors is their accuracy for colour with a wide colour gamut. They can accurately reproduce a broad spectrum of colours in an image. This allows for precise and vibrant colour representation, essential for professional users such as graphic designers, printers, archives, museums and more where accuracy and faithfulness are a must.

The Colortrac SmartLF SGi series uses CCD sensors to deliver excellent colour detail and image depth.
